For 10 days in October and throughout Cape Breton Island, locals and visitors will be celebrating the Celtic Colours International Festival http://www.celtic-colours.com/. The island will be immersed in upbeat and unique opportunities to experience and participate in events throughout the island celebrating the island’s Celtic culture, traditional music, dance and food.
The Bras d’Or Lakes in St. Peter’s is proud to play host to many of these events and are especially delighted to provide the opportunity for musicians to meet, learn or join in with others throughout the Festival. In addition to sixteen instructional sessions we host the Kitchen Racket Jam Sessions every night from 10:00 PM – 1 AM s, Friday to Friday after the concerts are over. Performing musicians, audience members and locals come back to jam and create their own impromptu kitchen party. Admission is $5; $2 with concert ticket stub; Free for participating musicians. Free to you with this package.
Centrally located on the east side of the island we also provide an excellent base from which to travel and participate in scores of other local Celtic Colours activities all within sixty minutes driving (or a wee bit more). Whether you are here for an evening, a few days or a week, you can build a great itinerary for yourself and fill each day with music, outdoor events, visual art, participatory events, community meals or learning opportunities.
