Stay, Dine and Play in June

, , , ,

From June 7th to June 29th, 2015 checkout
$87.00 per person, double occupancy.

June is a great time to visit Cape Breton Island. There is always lots to see, hear and do. We believe The Bras d’Or Lakes Inn is the place to stay, play, dine and use as a home base while visiting this side of the island. Our Stay and Play page will provide you with an overview of what the area has to offer and our What’s Happening page will keep you current on the entertainment planned for the month.

Once you arrive and check in you may want to enjoy a refreshment in our lounge or stroll down to the dock, along the canal or along the St. Peter’s trail.   Later  join us for your dinner reservation in the main dining room overlooking the lake. Before retiring you may even choose to relax in our outdoor hot tub.

The morning starts with our continental breakfast. Afterwards you may want to set out on the water for a paddle in the protected bays and around Handleys Island while watching for eagles and heron. Or take out one of our bikes to explore St. Peter’s on your own.

Whatever you chose, we will do our best to make your stay a wonderful experience!!

Stay, Dine and Sail on the Bras d’Or Lakes

Stay, Dine and Sail on the Bras d’Or Lakes

, ,

June 15 through October 15
Full day - $269.00 per person; Three hours - $195.00 per person - all double occupancy. Single rates available.

Take an unforgettable day-long adventure on the pristine waters of the Bras d’Or Lakes central to Cape Breton Island and recently recognized by UNESCO as an official Biosphere Reserve. Board the Misty Cat just a few steps from the Inn. Meet your hospitable captain, Greg Silver, for a pre-departure briefing to discuss the day’s wind and weather forecast, then help chart a course, given your preferences for sightseeing and on-the-water activities. And then set sail.

Itinerary options include a transit through the historic St. Peter’s canal which since 1865 has linked the Atlantic Ocean to the Bras d’Or Lakes; a sailing tour of island-studded Lennox Passage and its modern-day mussel farms on the ocean side, or a gentle reach up the St. Peter’s Inlet and into the Bras d’Or Lakes.  On a full day sail you’ll stop to anchor for a delicious lunch prepared by the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn, and some swimming if you wish. Wherever you go, you’re bound to see bald eagles overhead, maybe some seals and pilot whales, herons along the shore, and stunning vistas of the coastline that you only get from a vantage point at sea.

Experienced sailors will enjoy the chance to command Misty Cat’s innovative wishbone rig. Or just relax aboard this surprisingly comfortable Nonsuch-class sailing yacht to enjoy the ride, the conversation and the scenery.

√ $30 dinner voucher – covers table d’hôte or apply against a la carte
√ One nights’ accommodation – double occupancy
√ Continental breakfast
√ Full day/half day sailing excursion (confirmation of availability required in advance)
