St. Peter’s is situated perfectly for tourists wanting to visit the Cabot Trail and/or Louisbourg. St. Peter’s in approximately 35 minutes from the Canso Causeway, 3 hours from the Halifax Airport, and approximately 1.5 hours to the Fortress of Louisbourg. In other words, you will not waste a full day driving if you stay in St. Peter’s overnight. You can leave Halifax in the morning and be golfing, shopping, or kayaking around St. Peter’s during the second half of the day. The scenic drive along the east coast of the Bras d’Or Lakes is beautiful and is a common route taken to Sydney, Rita’s Tea Room, Ski Ben Eoin, and The Lakes 18 hole Golf Course, and Louisbourg.
