For 9 days in October and throughout Cape Breton Island, locals and visitors will again be celebrating the 2015 Celtic Colours International Festival. The island will be immersed in upbeat and unique opportunities to experience and participate in events throughout the island celebrating the island’s Celtic culture, traditional music, dance and food.
The Bras d’Or Lakes in St. Peter’s is proud to play host to the Kitchen Rackets Jam Sessions and Workshops Monday October 12 to Thursday, October 15.
The Jam Sessions are after Celtic Colours concerts in the immediate area in and around St. Peter’s. They kick-off around 10:30 pm each evening, Monday through Thursday. Travelling music enthusiasts are welcome to join in a circle of local players, or sit back and listen. Admission is $5, or just $2 with that evening’s concert ticket stub. Free for participating players.
The workshops provide the opportunity for musicians to meet, learn or join in with others throughout the Festival. There are numerous instructional sessions among many topics Monday through Thursday. Costs vary from $20 to $35. There are also artisan demonstrations .
